11-day cruise, western caribbean on the norwegian cruise line ship, the breakaway. i visited six countries!

Just arrived for my 11 day cruise that will sail to Bahamas, Jamaica, Belize, Grand Cayman Island, Honduras, Costa Maya, and Cozumel.

Turtles appear in many myths and legends. In India, turtle is one of the incarnations of Vishnu that helped sustain the world as it was sinking into ocean. In China, it is used in Feng Shui. In Japan, the turtle appears in the legend of Urashima Taro, a boy who rescued a turtle and in return, she takes him to the undersea palace of the dragon king where he is entertained for what he thought a few days by one of the sea princesses. Upon his return to his village, he discovers everyone is gone and 100 years had passed. Disregarding the advise of the princess, he opens box and turns 100 years old.

As mentioned above, turtles appear in various cultures. In Native American symbolism, turtle signified Mother Earth and is prominent in Creation Myths.

In myths and sacred texts, there are often references to the "multi-eyed" beings, Ophanim being one them as well as Shiva.

Skulls are engraved into the walls. There are hundreds of them symbolizing the human sacrifices Mayans performed in the belief that the Serpent God needed blood. In this, there are similarities to the Egyptian goddess, Sekhmet, who was a war goddess and had lust for blood. She was known as the "Scarlet Lady" which somehow, is how Virgin Cruise Lines also named their first cruise ship.
